Agency fees

The core options families need to understand first.

$2,499

Best for a clear, straightforward nanny or household search. Includes recruiting, screening, background report, DMV record where applicable, reference verification, CPR/First Aid verification, emergency chart, placement folder, ongoing support, and a 30-day replacement window.

Premium placement

Exclusive placement

$4,299

Best for high-trust or more complex household roles. Adds deeper staffing strategy, tailored work-agreement support, onboarding guidance, one year of backup sitter referral support, and a 180-day replacement window.

Temporary placement

$1,600

Short-term placement up to 90 days, with screening, replacement support, work-agreement template, emergency chart, and access to babysitting support during the placement window.

Newborn and infant care

$1,600 or $40/day

Newborn care specialist or infant-care placement support, including recruiting, screening, work-agreement template, CPR/First Aid verification, and ongoing guidance.

Important: agency fees are separate from caregiver pay. Families pay the caregiver directly for hours worked and pay BBN’s agency fee separately. Placement fees are generally due within 3 days of a confirmed offer or booking. Credit card payments may include a 3.5% processing fee.

Caregiver pay guidance

Typical hourly ranges families should budget separately.

Agency fees are separate from caregiver compensation. These planning ranges reflect current Southern California nanny and household staffing expectations and help families scope a competitive offer before the search begins.

Role Typical pay range Usually best for
Full-time live-out nanny $30-$40/hr Consistent weekday childcare, school logistics, routines, and long-term family support.
Part-time nanny $35-$45/hr After-school care, lighter weekly schedules, partial-week support, or harder-to-fill hours.
Newborn care specialist / night nanny $45-$65+/hr Infant support, overnight care, feeding routines, sleep structure, and early-month guidance.
Household assistant nanny $35-$45/hr Childcare plus errands, scheduling, home organization, and family logistics.
Travel nanny $35-$60/hr Childcare during trips, changing schedules, travel days, and away-from-home routines.
ROTA / high-demand household role $120k-$180k annual Alternating long-shift teams or intensive private-household coverage.

Planning note: actual offers vary based on schedule, number of children, duties, driving, travel, overtime exposure, guaranteed hours, benefits, and candidate experience. BBN helps families shape the role before introducing candidates so the offer matches the market.

Replacement policy

Replacement support depends on the package selected.

Basic includes a 30-day replacement window, Premium includes a 90-day replacement window, and Exclusive includes a 180-day replacement window. Replacement support is conditioned on timely payment, timely notice to BBN, no material change to the job description, and the family following applicable employment requirements.

BBN makes reasonable efforts to refer one replacement candidate within the applicable policy window. Because every household role is different, families should review the full client service agreement before hiring.
